At the time, she wasn't planning on redoing anything.Īnyway, loved the photos of your old pages. She said that she hated some of her old stuff, but liked to see her evolution in her work, too. I once went to a CK convention in Phoenix and asked Becky Higgins if she'd ever redo her old pages. I also agree w/someone else's post about the stuff current now (big swirls, etc.) might seem less than ideal to me later. I do agree that it is nice to see the progression of my skills, but I want to be proud of my work, too. I don't have a honeymoon book, or travel book or whatever, but I think I would be tempted to redo an entire theme album if I really disliked what I had done. I am planning to take a few photos from my old pages to use in these new books and not redo an entire book. I'm scrapping photos that really showcase my kids quirks or important family stuff. I had been scrapping chronologically, but now I am doing "personality" or family type books. What was I thinking w/that?Īnyway, I've been thinking lots about redoing my old albums, but I am so far behind that it is not a priority. I was also really into the little punches, dec edge scissors and, for some reason, small patterned paper squares (about 1/2") behind the photo corners. I started w/CM in 93 and all of my pages have "sticker sneeze" and lots of white. I love this thread! Thanks for starting it! It has been a topic on my mind for quite a while now. ![]() It doesn't look like a hodge podged mess. Its the one I'm most proud of anyway, coordinating colors, embellishments etc. My absolute favorite album is the one I did of my son's first year. It is taking me forever but so far I like the results. ![]() Every page was a different color and nothing flowed together. I'm currently in the process of redoing a heritage album I ruined 10yrs ago. I can barely bring myself to look at the old scrapbooks lol and I don't dare show them.although I did show them off at the time (what the heck was I thinking lol). OMG, I swear you just described my beginning scrapbooks word for word!! I also started back in the mid 90's and where I am the only thing available at the time was stickers and busy papers. Have you ever redone a scrapbook? Do you hate your OLD stuff? Or am I the only one? There are so many more products and options now than there were 10-15 years ago. Travel is my passion and I can't stand having to look back and seeing the montrosity I created. I think I am going to leave my high school one alone and just let it be tacky-I grew up in the era of parachute pants, legwarmers, new wave music after all! However, I really want to redo my travel album. It is so bad that I think they take away from the photos. I also got a little too happy with bright colors and very busy background papers. The layouts are crazy and it looks like a sticker factory exploded on my pages. I have been scrapbooking since the early 1990s and I absolutely HATE the scrapbooks I did during that decade.
